Our anxiety does not empty our tomorrow of it's sorrow, but only empties today of it's strength - Charles Spurgeon

Simple Delights...

It's the simple things in life that delight me.
And more often than not, they are the very things God put in His creation for our enjoyment and His glory.
These tiny little shells are a lovely testament to the Lord's attention to details.
They used to be homes to tiny sea creatures that have long since disappeared;
whether to larger homes or having lived out their cycle of lives.
Hello!
I look forward to sharing my interests in simple living. Living with less and using what is on hand/available.
My aim with this blog is to meet others who are interested in or are homesteading and homemaking; loving to cook, bake, read, sew, create, garden, farm...even using old techniques
of our mothers and grandmothers.
So please, if you visit, let me know. I would love to meet you!

Pilgrim's Cottage in the Making...

I cannot think of any material best suited for a cottage than good old fashion wood.
A simple and airy little cottage is all I ask for to live in.
Nothing fancy. Just sweet looking and easy to maintain.
No glass windows. Just louvered wood windows that open to the breeze.
A bedroom with a bath; a basic kitchen; a small living area;
and an extra deep verandah to serve as my main living area.
The first floor has the laundry and sewing facility; a guest bedroom with bath.
The open area underneath the cottage will have my outside laundry and wash-up sink
and a laundry line for drying clothes in the breeze. I prefer line drying to a machine.
Hello!
This is my first post for Pilgrim's Cottage.
I hope to be chronicling a journal of living a cottage life on a small, organic farm on a tiny island.
If you visit me, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to leave a comment.
Hope to meet you soon!
