Dew from the Heavens...

The dictionary defines dew as moisture condensed from the atmosphere...
it is also referred to when speaking of purity, delicacy, refreshing quality...

There truly is something refreshing about dew

I call them "liquid jewels"...
from the hand of God...
more lovely than a string of glass beads

These "liquid jewels" deck the leaves in our gardens
 in the small hours of the morning...
glinting in the sunlight...
more on some leaves...

and just a few beads of dew on others

some slowly dripping their way down
the unfurling leaf of a banana tree

some dew drops as large as the tiny spider on the flower

And, as the sun warms the day...
and slowly melts away the liquid jewels...
the tiny frogs that sing at night...
make their way back into their wee hiding places

quietly hopping like there is no business but their own...

They do so like my seed starter trays

I suppose they feel rather safe in them...
and they are left alone until a tray is needed...
which I gently turn over outside the compound.
I do not mind them...
they and the lizards that make their home around the house...
(outside, pretty please)
keep the buggies down in population.
I often see my lizard friends dart and catch bugs...

these little creatures are my friends...
the Lord God made them all and for His own good purpose

Israel in the Bible is a picture of God's people...
both Jew and Gentile.
Therefore, we know that the scripture below speaks to all those who are of His choosen people throughout the ages.

"The eternal God is thy refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms:
and He shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;
and shall say, Destroy them.
Israel then shall dwell in safety alone;
the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine;
also His heavens shall drop down dew."
Deuteronomy 33:27,28

In Genesis 27...
when Isaac blessed his younger son, Jacob, he believed he was blessing Esau, his older son. The older son was traditionally given the special blessing of God.
However, God in His own providence...
caused the blessing to fall on Jacob;
it is Jacob the Lord had chosen...
to bless those in the ages to come with the special blessing of eternal life through Christ.
I hope and pray that you, too will know this special blessing...
"Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven,
and the fatness of the earth,
and plenty of corn and wine".
Genesis 27:28

The dew of heaven represents spiritual refreshment.
The fatness of the earth represent the spiritual blessings of God.
Corn and wine represent the spiritual food He feeds His people.
Jacob was blessed with it and carried it on through the generations up to our time and however beyond the Lord sees fit.
No wonder Esau cried with a "great and exceeding bitter cry"
when he learned of his lost birthright.

May you know this day the deep riches of God's blessings.
