Little Orphan Annie...

Meet Little Orphan Annie...

I looked out my window one morning and there she was...
standing and crying out in the field with the other goats.
We found out that she belongs to our nearest neighbors
and had wandered onto our farm in search of her mama.
She lost her mama to some marauding dogs...

This little girl stayed with our goats...
we redeemed her from her former owner who decided to sell off some of his goats.
I thought she ought to be named Little Orphan Annie...
we call her Annie for short.
Funny how things happen...
we talked of getting a second milking goat.
As far as we can tell, she is of Nubian species...
a potential milker...
and she's mine as long as God lends her to me.

She is about the same age as our farmhand's kid goat that was born on our farm back in April...
they have become great friends...
she cuddles up to him for comfort...
I was hoping the nanny goat with the kid would accept her and let her suck...
that was a dream on my part.

I can happily say, she is eating on her own and doing just fine...
with all the green goodies she could want growing around her.

She no longer cries for her mama...
she has made her home here...
among a new family.
I like her quite well...
she's demure and so girly.

I hope your day, or night is wonderful.
