The Winds of Time...

The time really did pass on quickly...
and somehow, it just doesn't feel like it's been two months since...
I took a blog break

thank you for your staying with my blog while I was gone...
and welcome! to new followers...
you have been noticed

my husband and I took time off from the homestead...
and went away, leaving everything in the hands of trusted people...
and truly in the hands of the Lord

we came back to everything in one piece...
without incidents or accidents...
and we're thankful to God for His provision in our safe return...
and safety for all concerned

of course, when one leaves a homestead...
there will be some catch-up to do

and I got to work on shelling and roasting cocoa beans

while my husband got to work on cleaning out the kitchen garden for new plantings

he pulled everything out except my potted herbs

and weeded the boxes till they were emptied out of anything green

and Foxie did the inspection to make sure the garden would be ready for new seeds

I was glad to see how well my potted anise hyssop plants did while we were gone

I wasn't so sure they would do so well without some attention...
but, as you can see...
they are even blooming with flowers...
and that makes me happy
this is one of my favorite herbal plants for making tea

the potted avocado plant is quite ready to be planted into the ground
I started it from a seed and it is now nearly 5 feet tall after a few months

of course, some of our hens decided to get to work brooding...
so, I gave them due respect by putting some freshly laid eggs from the layers under them
4 eggs are pipping as of today

here's hoping for more future egg layers, please
so far, we have 18 hens and some new egg-buying clients

we have lots to do since coming home but, we'll catch up over time...
maybe...
and in the meanwhile, I would be reminded that the winds of time...
bring eternity with the Lord even closer

For a man also does not know his time:
Like fish taken in a cruel net,
Like birds caught in a snare,
So the sons of men are snared in an evil time,
When it falls suddenly upon them.
Ecclesiastes 9:12

May your day or night be blessed in God's grace.
