Things We're Doing

A new homestead takes up a lot of time

we don't mind as the Lord tells us to occupy until He returns

and so, we do

we still have coffee beans from the last homestead's coffee trees

and I have been roasting and grinding them as we use them
we enjoy our own coffee beans immensely
and at the risk of sounding biased...
they taste better than coffee beans from the store shelves

of course, while the hens keep marching around the new homestead...
looking and scratching for their meals...

my husband has been planting more trees such as bananas...
and coffee trees

one can never have too many of these

and would you believe it?
the cherry trees are already bearing!

we've been eating them right off the trees

we are almost finished with the roofing of the herb garden...
and have started putting up the fence around it to let the chickens know...
it is off limits to yard fowl

we got ourselves a Saamen milk goat
she is a couple years old and is giving milk still after her last kidding
the former owner bred her and hopefully she took

in the mornings when I take the dogs for their walk...
we go down to the bridge construction to see how it is coming along

well, it is coming along at a snail pace but...
coming

after checking out the bridge progress...
we head back up the road towards home to check out the mango trees

a man who owns the property next to ours has mango groves...
that he no longer harvests and lets others freely take from them

with all those delicious mangoes falling...
I really can't let them go to waste

I pick up most from the ground that are in good condition
we not only eat them...
but also give them to our goats and cow

Ms. Ruthie Moo Moo found her way to the mango trees the other morning...
and didn't think to leave me any to pick up

that's okay...
she's been a great cow with super good milk
she deserves the treat

May your day or night find the grace of the Lord.
