A neighbor down the road burns wood into activated charcoal...
deep in the ground
and when he does, we buy a bag from him...
never knowing when it may come in handy
for cooking during outages/bad weather
dehumidifying (put in an open container in humid/wet areas)
neutralizing odors (same as above)
helps keep cut flowers longer (put some into vase)
enriches the soil (sprinkle on garden soil and work in)
used in cases of poisoning...
and many other uses (check the internet for more info)
we like to keep our charcoal stored in a bag
our main reason is for possible hurricanes that may crop up during the volatile season...
when electricity may be off...
or cooking gas is unavailable
sometimes, it's nice just to cook a big pot of stew or soup outside
May your day, or night be pleasant in God's grace.
