Pippi or Pepe? and a little Child...

It was time to get out of the "box"

my new layer chicks are growing up and...
it was just time to leave the security of the "baby" cage
and they loved it
and I loved it 'cause I hate cages

Pippi? wherefore art thou?!!

here she (or is it he?) comes, running up from the back

Pippi, who has grown from a tiny hatchling who was abandoned by mama hen before hatching...

is now this big and nearly covered with real feathers

and what a nice surprise she has turned out to be

she has been caring for the little layers like a big sister (or is it brother?)

"okay, you gang of whippets...

let's go get us some bugs!"

"just follow me"

"don't forget to look down a lot...

them buggers are in these here grasses somewhere"

yeah, Pippi, you good chickie, you

keep 'em marching and growing fat on some juicy bugs

and don't forget to show them how to eat some greens, too

hmmm...could she be a he?

maybe Pepe, rather than Pippi?

we shall see

speaking of the young leading...

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse,

and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins,

and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,

and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;

and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;

and a little child shall lead them.

Isaiah 11:1-6

This is the Christ, who came into the world, and now saves and guides his people.

and He gives them peace in a sin-filled world of chaos and disorder.
