Monday Morning

All during the night, the skies were filled with thunder, lightening, and rain
and although it woke me up several times from my sleep...
I didn't mind
I do love me a storm during the night

this morning, although still overcast...
it was good cool weather for a second cup of coffee

today is a good day for indoor work

and the Lord said...

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak;
and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

My doctrine shall drop as the rain,
my speech shall distill as the dew,
as the small rain upon the tender herb,
and as the showers upon the grass:
because I will publish the name of the Lord:
ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

He is the Rock,
His work is perfect:
for all His ways are judgment:
a God of truth and without iniquity,
just and right is He.
Deuteronomy 32:1-4

May your day or night be a blessed day in God's grace.

Recovering the Gospel (part 1)

Last week I posted that my next post would be on cooking with my dutch oven...
and I will do that this week

but with this post I wanted to give you a link to a most important message...
from Pastor Don Fortner

(you can click on the link below for the video)

in this video he gives a powerful and true sermon on the gospel of Jesus Christ...
and what it is not

Pastor Don is a brother in Christ and my favorite preacher of this day...
who ranks up there with such preachers as Arthur W. Pink and Charles H. Spurgeon

please do give this sermon your ears for just a short time...
it is so well worth hearing...
and it may be that the Lord will enlighten and spiritually bless those who do

His Tender Rains...

During the night, the Lord looked down and saw...
our need for some rain on our little island

He opened up the heavens above Pilgrim's Farm and watered our gardens for us

at first, He brought the rains down fast and hard, and along with that rain...

God sent His thunder and lightening to remind us that He is still in charge

then, after a little time...
He withdrew His thunder and lightening...
and sent a soft, gentler rain to remind us of His love and mercy

and our gardens were quenched of their thirst

and the Lord said,
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak;
and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
My doctrine shall drop as the rain,
my speech shall distil as the dew,
as the small rain upon the tender herb,
and as the showers upon the grass:
Because I will publish the name of the Lord:
ascribe ye greatness onto the Lord.
Deuteronomy 32:1-3

May the Lord rain His mercies and grace on you.

Beach Time...

This week...
we took the dogs to a little, out of the way, beach
no one goes there except a few fishermen on a rare occasion

we park the car and walk the dogs down to it...
making our way down a hill and through the woods
no wonder it's out of the way

we had discovered it a few years ago when living in this area at our beach cottage

the dogs love this beach and can't wait to run down the hill ahead of us and splash into the sea

and they will sit there and wait for us to make our way down...

knowing there is a game of fetch to come

go get it! Shadow

fun for the dogs to go get...
and fun to watch them go get

okay, Foxie girl, you're turn coming up
you can see the anticipation in their positions...
waiting for that stick

go for it, Foxie

bigger than you are, girl...

but, you're bringing that log back...

yeah, I know...
no matter how heavy

what? is that the end?

uh oh...Foxie lost her collar...
somewhere in the sea

where, oh where...
could that collar be?

oh well...
so much for collars...

how about a sand bath, instead

no, let's play

that's even more fun than going back into the sea and looking for that collar

the collar eventually found under the sea and retrieved...
husband takes a scenic break

he found this...
and I took the photo of this...
the empty shell of a sand crab...
basking uselessly in the sun

across the way and to a small peninsula...
sits a lonely seaside building
it's been there a long time...
for some reason never getting finished
just a shell of a home that never was
I can't help but wonder who and why

an occasional sailboat off in the distance...
going somewhere

and there are the ever present sea creatures of various kinds

this one below I have no idea of...

a jelly-like water balloon...
usually found among the seaweed...
that bursts salty water when popped

and there is another empty shell...
this one of some kind of creature...

maybe a lobster or shrimp type

and in the water there among the seaweeds...

my husband brought up so I could see it at close range...

and take photos of a lovely starfish

it's alive and beautiful in a coral color

how can anyone say there is no God?

The fool hath said in his heart,
There is no God.
Corrupt are they,
and have done abominable iniquity:
there is none that doeth good - Psalm 53:1

and...

Professing themselves to be wise,
they became fools... - Romans 1:23

There is no fear of God before their eyes - Romans 3:18

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.
For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness - 1 Corinthians 3:19

when I see the intricacies of the Lord's creation...
how innumerable the varieties of creatures and designs...
it is truly a wonder of His power and endless abilities

O Lord, how manifold are Thy works!
in wisdom hast Thou made them all:
the earth is full of Thy riches - Psalm 104:24

after the photos...
I placed the starfish back into the sea...
to glimmer and shimmer, where it does so best
after all...it is a sea creature made by the wisdom of God...
to glorify and praise the Lord; in it's place, during it's season
God has made a place and a time...
a season...
for everything

May the Lord shine His grace on you.

Whatsoever He Pleased...

Good morning or day or evening...
wherever you may be.

Little Orphan Annie and her sidekick, Macho Kid (on the right)...
enjoying frisky moments in the field.
I checked on the goats and moved some to other pasture.
As you can see below...
one mama goat is watching me, looking for a treat.
She forgot she already had some.

We have new banana trees coming up...
I love the fields when they are full of trees.
Watching my goats is a relaxing time...
but, the potager garden needs looking after, too.
So, mama goat turns to eat and I go on my way.

I have a little garden girl in the potager garden who sits and...
 well, sits.
She doesn't do a thing except look nice around my herbs.
After a soft rain, she looks like she's been crying.

But, I can assure you...
she has not been crying.
She is a reminder to me to be content and quiet...

and reminds me that...
"...in whatsoever state I am, to be content"
Phillipians 4:11

For I know...
"Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did He in heaven, and in earth,
in the seas, and all deep places"
Psalm 135:6

It is a great comfort to know that...
"...our God is in the heavens:
He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased"
Psalm 115:3

My Lord is perfectly sovereign in every way...
and can only do that which is perfect.
Blessed be the Lord.

May the Lord Jesus Christ be your sovereign contentment.

Of no Man's Religion...

The Gospel of Jesus Christ belongs to no man's religion...

It is the well-message of God's salvation to those who are His people.
The well-message comes from the Greek "euaggeliou"...
it signifies that those who are saved by this very Gospel of God are made whole from the sickness of sin.
In Matthew 9: 11-13, the Pharisees asked Jesus' disciples why He ate with the publicans and sinners.
His answer was...
"They that be whole need not a physician,
but they that are sick.
But, go ye and learn what that meaneth."
This Gospel of God is not given on any merit we have...
we have no merit to speak of.
We are depraved...
and...

"The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked: who can know it"?
Jeremiah 17:9

In the original Greek of the Bible,
the heart is described as crooked from all and
being mortally ill.
Mortally ill...
in other words, dead.
We are sick unto death...
hopeless, helpless in ourselves to find salvation.
We are not able in ourselves to do
anything good for salvation.
The only hope is that the grace and mercy
of God might find us...
electing to save our wretched selves from the wrath of everlasting punishment for sins against God.
Because we are dead in our sins, only God can make us alive.

"For as in Adam all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
1 Corinthians 15:22

And, in Titus 3:5...
"Not by works of righteousness that we have done,
but according to His mercy, He saved us,
by the washing of regeneration,
and renewal of the Holy Ghost;"

May you find grace and mercy in the Lord.

Loving the Word of God...

How could I live without the word of God...
the Holy Bible in which He speaks to me daily.

How could I know just how sovereign He is without reading this most precious book...
He is sovereign beyond what we can imagine or understand...
just read the verse below of Daniel 6:21.

Without the knowledge of His sovereignty...
my thoughts would be troublesome with worries and cares of this world.
Everything is in His control.
Everyone is in His control...
including the devil and his cronies.

In Daniel 7:27 is a comfort in the promise of my future...
safe in the love of my God who has loved me with an everlasting love.
May all glory, praise, honor and blessing be to the Lord God Almighty.

May my Sovereign God shine grace on you also.

In That Day...

"And in that day thou shalt say,
O Lord, I will praise Thee:
though Thou wast angry with me,
Thine anger is turned away,
and Thou comfortedst me.
Behold, God is my salvation;
I will trust, and not be afraid:
for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song;
He also is become my Salvation.
Sing unto the Lord;
for He hath done excellent things:
this is known in all the earth."
Isaiah 12:1,2,5

Blessed be the Lord...

The Lord liveth;
and blessed be my Rock;
and let the God of my salvation be exalted.
Psalms 18:46

May you find grace in the eyes of the Lord today.
