On Such a Day...

My husband picked sorrel hibiscus/roselle and cut the calyxes from the stems...
then cut out the seeds from inside the calyxes

we will dry most and use some for tea in the evenings

some I will make jam with, next week

in the meantime...
we have rain

because we have a whole library of gardening books...
sitting on a table...
brought down from David of floridasurvivalgardening.com ...

that means...
book time, as in reading

in the hammock...
and for once, just letting my hair down

to take up the first book on my list...
The Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening of 1978 edition by the editors of...
Organic Gardening Magazine

a real pleasure, indeed, until the sun shines again

and speaking of light, it was said of Jesus Christ...

The God of Israel said,
the Rock of Israel spake to me,
He that ruleth over men must be just,
ruling in the fear of God.
And He shall be as the light of the morning,
when the sun riseth,
even a morning without clouds;
as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear sunshine after rain.
2 Samuel 23:3,4

May your day or night be filled with the morning light of the Lord.

  1. You look real cozy there in that bottom shot. It's fun to read by an oil lamp with all the electric lights off , isn't it!?!

  2. Nothing like delving into a good book. Enjoy.

  3. Love it Jean! I think I could have, well I know, spent the whole day in a hammock. Enjoy reading:)

  4. Sounds like the perfect cozy day!
