Welcome to Pilgrim's Cottage...

As promised, here is a look at Pilgrim's Cottage on the inside
I tried to video the cottage and found my skills in that area quite lacking...
therefore, I took photos and put it into slide form to spare you the queasy feeling

we built small, put in mostly basic furniture for our needs...
put up a few decorative items...
and have elected to keep it clean and uncluttered for a spacious feeling
once in a while, I change some things around to keep the cottage "fresh"

with no glass in our windows but, only using shutter slats and screens...
we keep our windows open all the time to let in cool breezes and light...
we need no air conditioner and the nights are cool
the roofing overhang keeps out rains

in our cottage, we use very few appliances...
no toasters, no microwave, no dishwasher, no television
what we have are small and sufficient for our needs
our cooker runs on gas and we need to refrigerate very few items

the ads that show up on my video were beyond my control but...
just click the x button on the right top of the ad and it will go away

I hope you enjoy the wee show along with the quiet music

May your day or night be graced by the Lord.

  9. Absolutely the most beautiful, tranquil place I have ever seen. Peaceful and lovely. I agree. This world is not our home. We are just a passing through. Pointing people to Jesus. Blessings friends so far away but so close as sister and brother.

  15. What a treat to see your beautiful home! It is simple, but not plain. You've added so many little touches to make it special. You have created a restful haven for your husband and yourself. The way that you have chosen to live is an expression of Matthew 6: 19-21

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

  16. First of all welcome back - I really missed reading your posts. As for your home...as someone else says, simple, yes....but so tasteful and elegant....I can almost feel the breeze wafting through from the veranda....it is simply beautiful - and the white colour everywhere is so good to see....thanks for taking the time to show us your home.
My concern would be for biting bugs...don't you have any of those or are you immune to them? How do you cope with that aspect.
Thanks again for a lovely time viewing your home and may you have many many more years to enjoy this one before journeying to the eternal one.

    1. Joyce, other than sand flies at times, we don't have much trouble with biting bugs on our farm. Grenada has some mosquitoes here and there on the island but, we haven't had them on our farm. We are careful to make sure that no standing water invites them. We also have a good deal of bug eating creatures such as bats, lizards and frogs that help keep down bug populations. Our cottage is also screened in for any possible pests. Thanks for your comments and question!

  17. WOW!! Jean, you're place is AMAZING! It's right out of a magazine. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Robert really loved watching it too... But wait....we think we sense a "call" to start up a new Bible study in your area.... ;-)

  18. Just wanted to say I love your cottage home. I especially love that you just have beautiful basics - we actually NEED so little in our physical lives, but so much in our spiritual lives! Just beautiful in all white!
