The Beginning of a Potager Garden...

It's just the beginning...
the hopes of a potager garden.
First thing is first...
the weeds must go.

That water tank will be camaflouged...
with tall plants surrounding it.
I do dislike concrete;
and this one sits at the back of my future garden.

In the meantime...
it takes a bit of manpower and determination
to get those weeds out of the ground.

These are boulders, not rocks...
boulders as in BIG...
bigger, some of them, than me.
Some of the herbs will sit nicely in between these rocks.

Starting with a mint plant that will be put into the dirt there...
to hopefully creep it's way along the rocks...
and giving plenty of mint leaves for tea and such.

And, weeding among the boulders...
a delightful discovery was made!
Ferns!! I love ferns!

Nestled among those huge boulders...
they came along quite naturally...
without help from mankind.
Sent from the hand of God...
they are indeed keepers.

May delights come your way this day, or night   Flowers

  2. Oh, ferns! What a nice surprise! We had ferns on the north side of our house out in the country, just like yours, they just showed up, God's providence.

Can't wait to see your finished garden. Do you all ever burn off a garden spot? An old timer told us to burn ours off to kill the seeds from the weeds. I love it when the older pass on much needed wisdom to the younger.
