Moving Kimi...

This little lizard wishes you a good morning...
and a big welcome to new followers and visitors!

I do believe he is ready to move this wheelbarrow in anticipation of more garden work

as for Kimi...
she had decided the basket in the laundry room would do just fine as a brooding station

not so, Kimi

I have learned that when a brooding hen takes up her position in a most inconvenient place...
it really is not so hard to convince her to put her station where it belongs

all that I needed to do...
was pick up Kimi and her basket, lock, stock and barrel to the coop...
and once she got up for a "break"...
I replaced the small basket with a roomier basket and...
carefully put the eggs in their same position in the new nest...

she didn't a miss beat and simply got back on her eggs

I hung some old towels around her from the coop rafters...
to give her a safer and more private atmosphere

she rewarded us with a sweet puffball a couple of weeks later...
the second egg was a "dud"

if you find your hen brooding where she ought not...
just wait till she gets up for her break...
put the eggs in a basket and when she gets back on the eggs...
(make sure you wait till she gets back on the eggs before moving them)...
pick it all up and put it where you want
or, you can just pick her and the eggs up if you don't mind the angry pecking and...
sit her in the basket and put the eggs in and then move her

as long as she has her eggs, she should be happy
after every break, Kimi always went back to her new station with no problem
if your hen goes back to the old brooding station...
just move her again until she stays put in her proper station

"Sunny", I believe, looks like a good name for this puffball

May your day or night be blessed in God's grace.
